I am wondering (I do not know if I will do it yet) what is the correct way to allow UDP broadcasts to port 137 through a PIX 501 (that is broadcast to say 192.168.10.255/137)? It appears that my firewall does not have a translation for the .255 address.

What is the correct way to handle this UDP broadcast?

From what I understand of the the PIX devices, is that they operate fundamentally the same as a router, without actually routing. (or advanced router IOS functions).

Therefore broadcasts will not get forwarded to another network (connected to the other interface).

That is what I figured. Oh well.
