Hi, I want to allow only a few MAC addresses on my 2424 switch. I want it to be configured in such a way that no one can switch the laptop etc. into wall outlet and use the connection other than the Workstations we have in the lab. Any ideas how to do it?

Reagards,
Chkmg

Presuming the 2424 firmware is similar to the 4000M--and last I checked, it was--what you're looking for can be found by telneting to the switch, and selecting Switch Configuration -> Advanced Features -> Port Security.

You could also read the manual to find out this information. It's on page 6-118 of the Management and Configuration manual dated September 1999.

jkupski dear, thanx alot once again. I really appreciate your time and concern regarding both of my questions, TC!
