I saw an excellent article titled: "Port Forwarding Remote Desktop on the 2Wire 1000HW" and was wondering whether or not that article applies to my situation.

I have a 2Wire (1000HW) DSL modem / router and tried to permit Remote Desktop Connections by explicitly "allowing" it in the router's settings page.

It didn't work. I figured that's all I would need to do to access my home PC from work. What am I supposed to do with the Connection-specific DNS Suffix, the IP Address, the Subnet Mask, or the Default Gateway?

Please advise...

Thanks,
Eliezer

If you are using XP you need to go to PC properties and check a box to allow RDP. Also in the router make sure port 3389 points to any IP unless you give the PC a static IP and forward to that.
