Hi Ppls,

I'm currently attempting to route my Notes mail through the WGFB700.

I need to get my notes server talking to a remote notes server.

I am able to send but as yet am unable to recieve mail via DSL. I still have to use the modem to recieve.

I added the notes service to policy manager and this then allows me to send mail out on port 1352, but the remote notes server attempts to reply on any high port.

I added a custom service to allow ports 1000 through 4000 in but this still did not allow the service through.

There is then the issue of NAT. Will this effect the ports/addressing for connection?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers,

Pete

This reply should be allowed in since it is stateful inspection and you initiated the communication. The Notes filter is set to Client for the client port. Provided the replies are coming back in on a port above 1024 you should be good. What do the deny messages state? If you could post one here it would be helpful.

Also as an FYI on the client port settings:
Source port range checking options are (Client port field):
Ignore = Client ports will ignore the source port.
Secure = Client is dynamically allocated a port less than 1024 (for secure
services such as SSH).
Port = Client port uses same port as listed in the Port number field of
the service's icon.
Client = Client is dynamically allocated a port above 1024.
