hello all,

i made the mistake of turning off a feature called Allow Full Menus in the startup options in my Access db. Can anyone tell me where (how) in VB for MS Access i can code a statement to set allowfullmenus = -1 (on)?

thanks for any help you may provide.

With Access 97, you can get to the Startup... menu by right-clicking in the right-hand panel (under the New button).

Check Allow Full Menus and click Ok.

Exit Access. The next time you open it the full menus will be available.

Access 2000 is probably similar. (Look for right-clicks)

i am still confused. by doing what i did last night, there is no New option on the File menu or New button on the toolbar. also, i am not sure what you mean by right hand panel..?

Then you should be able to right-click on the tool bar to bring up a menu that has the "Startup..." choice. Click on it.

Check "Allow Full Menus" and click OK.

Exit and restart Access.

Hi!

Just hold down the shift key when opening the Db and the menus will be back.

Hi Zathras!

Thank you. Yours was a good trick as well. Though I suspect that we wouldn't consider these nearly as good when the user tries them! [conehead]
