Hello,
I am setting up an IP office 500 v2 and avaya j139 sip phones. It will be installed on a network with firewall. It is for basic telephony service.I would like to know which specific port should be opened on the network for the installation to successfully work.I know port matrix has so many listed ports but for basic telephony services which ports should be allowed on the network.
Please I need your advice.

The only good advice here is to use a VPN.

Do not use port forwarding to the IPO or you WILL be hacked.

Strongly agree with @okkie26.
I tested this once on an old system just to see how long it would take. In less than 5 mins hacking attempts began.

Never directly connect the IPO to the internet. Use a firewall & VPN.

Thanks, Tim

Techbrain1 - not clear if your phones on an internal or external network.

If external see the above!
