I am using Access97. Have two databases 1) back-end with only tables, 2) front-end with tables linked, forms, reports, etc.

Front-end has custom developed security allowing user to only flow through forms. Cannot create create, modify, or delete any objects.

Back-end has database password enabled. User does not have access to this password nor entry to this database.

User needs to be able to create custom queries and/or reports. I want to either allow user to create their own database for them to create their queries/reports or for me to create a database for them where they can create their queries/reports. Either way, I only want users to have read-only access to the tables, no update, insert, or delete. I want to stay away from workgroup (.mdw) files.

Any suggestions? Thanks much!

Are you on a network ? If so, you can accomplish this by setting file attributes to the mdb.
