Hi all,
Not sure if there is a simple way to do this or not.
We have a US and Canadian office, our us office is domain.org and our canadian office is domain.ca. The US office runs groupwise and we run exchange2003.
We also have temporarily setup a new domain for an event we're running, called event.org for example.
event.org is hosted in our US office. We have two Canadian employees working on this event however, and want them to be able to do all their e-mailing from one place.
So, we've setup a forward in the US office so e-mails sent to user@event.org will go to user@domain.ca, and this works OK.
We also added our exchange server as a secondary MX record for event.org, so RBL lists won't flag it.
So, the problem is, when one of our users in the Canadian office tries to send e-mail with the from address of user@event.org (instead of user@domain.ca), the exchange server kicks back an error about relaying:
bob@smith.com on 6/7/2007 8:45 AM
You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
MSEXCH:MSExchangeIS:/DC=ca/DC=domain:EX1
So my server is blocking relaying, normally a good thing. Is there something I can do to allow relaying for messages coming from a specific address, or something else to get this working? We run A/D in the Canadian office if that helps.
Users connect in via outlook RPC over http, or outlook web access, so they will always be authenticated (no pop3/smtp)
