I am setting up external CF to a cell phone. I have set up the usual Routes and Dest codes. I have Allow Redirect and Allow Redirect Ring set to Y. When I enter F4 or under try to set up CFNA after (x) rings I get INVALID NUMBER and CFNA will not accept the "9".

I have done this before but I must be missing something.

Make sure it is the DN you allowed to redirect. And it has to be a route not a pool code. Should work.
When you dial from a phone 9 and a number does the call go out?

ok. I am confused. one if you guys says yes it can and the other says no it cant. the 3.0 SW has the option to redirect

You can redirect the line but you need 4.1 to call forward the set. 2 different things.

So that I can understand, what exactly is REDIRECT used for in 3.0 if not to send the call to an outside number. The individual DN's provide this feature so what would the set user use this feature for if CF F4 is already available?

Thanks

Line redirect is when you direct any incoming call on one line to then call back out on another line.
If the user does not have a private line then they are out of luck.

Call Forward will allow you to have any inbound call to the phone forward out to a route.
For this 4.1 and up is required and you need to build a route with dest code. F4 DESTCODE XXX-XXXX

Ok so then Redirect will only allow a set user who has his own private number to have that private number redirected.

The ability to redirect all calls that ring in on a set via F4 is only available with rev 4.1 otherwise F4 can only allow calls to be forwarded to an internal ext number?

Is this correct?
