I would like to allow rcp through the ISA server, I have setup a packet filter for the 514 port allowing all users in and outbound for test perposes but it just hangs.

Telnet and ping from the local network reach the external Unix server fine.

Any ideas?

You may need to create a new protocol definition for this rcp port and then allow access to it via a Protocol rule, rather than a packet filter. Packet filters are used to all access to the isa server from the outside, but you are trying to access an external pc from behind the isa server to a protocol rule is required.

Thanks Nick I am very new to ISA do you know any web sites where I can find standard rules that people need to setup for ISA like telnet, rcp, lpd etc which are not included in the standard internet wizard connection.

Many thanks,
