Allow non-domain computers to use Exchange 07 mailboxes

Hi,

I have several guest users that I have created a mailbox for.
The issue is they are not part of the domain so I'm not sure how I can get them access to Exchange 2007.

Any help is appreciated.

You could use Outlook Web Access which is not far from a full Outlook client or you could use Outlook Anywhere (RPC over HTTP).

We use Outlook Anywhere with the Outlook 2007 client (although it works on Outlook 2003 as well).

So long as you correctly set up the SSL certificates your user will be able to access Exchange 2007 via a 'fat' Outlook Client.

Great benefit is that it works over SSL port which is nearly always open even on restricted networks. Means our guys can now connect up where as before their VPN connections did not always work.

Maybe you could setup individual mailboxes, comfigure them as pop3.
Just a quick thought.
 
Thanks, these guys will need access to Public Folders, meetings etc.
We've used OWA but found this to be slow (in our environment).

It's been decided that they are to have direct Exchange access as though they were on our domain.

Okay, but in 2007, OWA has nearly all features found in the Outlook client, and supports multiple browsers.

Looks like you need Outlook Anywhere.

I appreciate what you are suggesting but OWA is not an option.

It has to be direct Exchange access unfortunately.
 
I got it sorted.
Using always 'Prompt for username' in the profile settings.
Then when Outlook is opened they enter their AD account details domain\username and they can get in.
