I have a directory locked down in one of my sites to challenge with a login/password using a simple require valid user authorization set in htaccess

Is there a combination that will allow me to set a virtual host to "allow from 172.17.0.0" , effectively bypassing the need to login using the password file if I'm on the LAN, but if you come in via it's NAT public address, you'll be met with the password challenge?

Thanks,
Larry
