I am consistently getting an Allocated Memory error in my SBS monitoring report. It indicates there is a high amount of memory allocated to applications. It is an SBS 2k3 Standard server on a Dell PE 830 with 4 GB of RAM. It also runs SQL 2k5 Express for an accounting application. From what I can tell it is SQL and Exchange taking the memory. If I restart, the memory useage goes back to normal for a few days but then quickly returns to high useage. How can I tell if SBS Monitoring / Sharepoint or SQL 2k5 are using the memory? If I let it run and ignore it eventually I will get paging errors and have to restart. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I actually found the cmd entries to adjust the msde instances of SQL so I can prevent them from growing beyond a set limit. I learned that SBS Monitoring is typically the culprit. The same information was in the post you suggested. Thanks.

Don't forget some programs dynamically allocate memory (such as store.exe) so don't be suprised if the task manager reports insanely high memory allocate for some progs, if its in your performance report though you'll need to do some digging
