I dunno if anyone has heard about the allegro library cuz this question is pertaining to it. Since allegro is a platform independent it will compile for Linux.

My problem is when I run the ./configure command it configures the lib but it cant find(i think) the X11 headers(is that correct?) and so I can use only 320x240 8bit screen modes. I have asked this same question on another forum and people have replied saying that i need to install X11 headers and other files. But I am lost as to how to do this. I am not even sure whether this is the solution to the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Here is a reference url to the forum: http://www.allegro.cc/forums/view_t...1737&session=645f7c4adfd90bc80e44cccde766dfaa

Look for X11R6 directory - the X11 headers are in there. There should be a symbolic link of /usr/include/X11 to something like /usr/X11R6/include. It is a similar story with the libraries.
