Hello, this is my first post but I have been browsing for a while and thanks for all the great help!
I posted a similar post in the Office Software forum.
The server at work is Windows Server and Exchange 2000 with Veritas Backup Exec with the Open file agent.
This morning all the Word .doc files in the Marketing folder were modified at 7:50 AM and all of them were 0 bytes and when I tried to open a file, it would ask me to install the Word converter. I did, but it just opened up a blank document. The other files in the folder seem unaffected. The Marketing folder is on the same drive as other folders, but they were unaffected. Only the files and subfolders of Marketing were affected.
I have no idea what could cause this, could it be related to Backup Exec? Is it a Virus?
I have Mcafee running and it did not detect anything. Also, I have not done a restore or made any changes to backup exec. I have backups that I can restore to, but I'd like to know why this happened before I do anything.
Thanks in advance!
