All office products hanging

We have Office 2003, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 and when we go to select a file or select a data source or select a folder to save in, the application hangs. Sometimes after 30 seconds it starts responding again sometimes, it give the "Not Responding" error.

Has anyone else faced this problem?

I am having the same problem on XP Pro machines running Office 2002. The problem is intermittent on the machines that manifest the problem and other machines don't have it at all.

I recently went to the microsoft home page and downloaded the office updates. (check out the left hand column at

http://www.microsoft.com)

This updated me to a newer SP and it seems to be working now... time will tell though.
