SBT 5.0i has been running for years now. This morning no workstation can run the client. Get message:

"The required library DLL 'SBTWINT.DLL' not found. You will be returned to the Windows desktop."

Tried reinstalling client and when we browse to the network share where SBT is installed we get this message:

"A previous version of SBT PRO Series found in this directory, you must do a full install/update of PRO 5.0i before you can install the client"

Nothing to our knowledge has happened to the SBT installation overnight.

We DID copy the SBT installation from a NT server to a new Win2K server about 4 weeks ago.

Any ideas?

Did you run the client form the CD?
In the PRO50 directory, there should be a folder "client" or "workstation intallation". run the setup.exe to re-install the SBT libraries to your workstation. Hope this helps.

Restored all files except dbf and cdx to the server SBT directory (data is in separate directory). Now it works.
Seems like some files got deleted. Do not have a clue as to how this happened.....

We had 2 workstations that booted up this week with missing OS files. This is the only commonality I can find on this LAN...

Have you scanned EVERY machine on your network for virus activity? Sounds like some process or user is deleting files.

Matt J.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
