Hi,

Over the weekend something happend to my R5 phone system. When I came in today it seems as though everything was reset and I was unable to restore from back up. I have pretty much everything up and running again, except that when someone calls the main line, all extentions ring. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Go to centrallized extension programing and set up your line ringing on a phone. Just press each line button for immediate, delayed or no ring. The display will tell you. Also, Solid = immediate; slow flash = delayed and fast flash = no ring. While you are at it, set up line preference to pick the high lines first and go down. Press the right intercom button again and enter the same ext #. Press "**" and the line buttons in descending order followed by "**". Apply any line restrictions, allowed and disallowed lists at this time. Now press the right intercom button followed by the left intercom button. Enter #399 and enter the same ext # you set up followed by all the extensions that have the same line programing. Then #124 and enter to save it all on the card.
That should do it. I would check your batteries as well, Just clean the contacts and put them back in.

I'm assuming the system is a Partner ACS Release 5? Memory is lost when a power outage occurs and the (2) AAA batteries in the Processor are dead. You can ususally prevent this because the operator's staion (x10) will display a "Replace Battery" message in its LCD screen. The inability for you to restore is a little more difficult to diagnose. Examine the last backup date by entering program #125 to determine if the system was backed up recently. By default, the system does not backup automatically, so if someone forgot to enable auto-backup or never backed up manually, there's no way to restore. If all that was setup properly and there is a recent backup date on the card, you might have a bad PC card.

And don't forget to replace those batteries!

Thanks!

That sorted it all out for me and I was sure to make a back up after too, incase something happens again.

Thanks again!

Jeff
