I have recently been set up as a remote worker with "remote access" to my system + applications back in the head office.

All is well except there is a database application that i need to print from and i cant currently print anything from the remote applications to my bog standard Lexmark Z605 printer.

This includes from all MS Office apps.

I need to be able to do this and as an additional hassle i need a fax and could do with a scanner. Hence the All-in-one idea.

I like the look of the Canon PIXMA MP530 but can i use it via the remote access?? If not which ones can i use and what would you reccomend?!!

All advice appreciated.

I would talk to your tech dept.

You might be running in a Terminal Server session so they don't want you to be able to print.

If you can't print to your lexmark then sounds like something is not right.

Could be that you don't have permission to install the printer.

If you go into control panel - printers does it appear there and can you print a test page?

This has nothing to do with your printer, you need to use split tunneling to access your local resouces when connected via VPN. What VPN Client are you using? Some clients will let you adjust it locally, others require the setting change on the server (in which case you may be out of luck depending upon your company policy)
