I'm building a new computer and want to be able to work with my videos from my analog video camera as well as play games. Should I get an all-in-one card like ATI or get a good video card and a capture card. Should I be concerned about 4x or 8x? Going 8x limits the choices. Any recommendation is appreciated

Making video's with a capture card and playing games is a dangerous combination. If you want a stable system then you'll need at least two hard drives. One for your programs and games and one to capture the videos. The one you'll use for capturing should at least be running at 7200rpm and have a capacity of at least 40 gigs.

I'd really recommend a good AGP card (GeForce 4) and an internal capture card. A good capture card is the Pinnacle DV500+(digital and analog) or the DC10(analog).

I recently upgraded my pc and bought a ASUS A7V8X motherboard with a AMD ATHLON XP 2400+ and 256 mb DDR-333.
It's super fast and stable.

Forget about the All In One "Frustrating" Wonder. Not fast, not stable and not worth the money.

Greetings.

Thanks for the input, I think I'll get the videos put on cd by a professional and then use the movie maker software from there.
