All Desktop Shortcut Icons Open a Properties Window

When double clicking on a Desktop Shortcut a Properties Window opens rather than the Program the Shortcut points to. This incluced all desktop icons including MyComputer. When clicking on a Taskbar Quick Launch Icon the program will open directly.
This happened after clicking on Restore Desktop after a White screen appeared.

This is usually due to a memory problem. Once enough memory gets consumed by other programs. This can cause MANY strange problems to arise. This is most likely fixed by now, but in the future, just restart.

Or a stuck 'Alt' key.

Thanks for the help. Shutting down and restarting solved the problem. Shortcut Icons now correctly point to and open the program.
Who knows why this happened. Computer Gremlins no doubt.
