all calls immediately transferred to receptionist

All of my incoming calls are immediately picked up. the caller is told that they are being transferred to the receptionist. The call then goes through on two lines, one of which is always dead?

I just want all incoming calls to ring at all extensions without being picked up first. can anyone help?

sounds like you need to assign your Hunt Group Extensions (#505). These are the extension numbers associated with each voicemail port. You need to figure out which extensions are associated with the slot that the voicemail is plugged into in order to do this.

I have the hunt group extensions assigned as per the diagram in the manual (28,29,30 & 31). I have just noticed that the expansion modules in those diagrams are labled "308" and the module I have in the slot is "206, R4.1". Would this make a difference with the extensions?

Yes it will, if you have a ACS you start counting with the middle module then go to the left and work your way back. Treat the VMS as a 6 port module.

I assigned 26-29 and incoming calls now come through on one line. however, after 6 or so rings I am still forwarded to the receptionists phone instead of the AA. Is this a different problem?

Make sure you don't have any other stations in the Hunt Group 7, only the VMS ports, you should be able to intercom each VMS port and the voice mail will answer, you may have some strays in there. You can give me a call if all else fails.

Also did you assign the lines in #206 group 7 that you want the AA to answer?

That worked perfectly, I had the lines in #206 set to VMS coverage, when I changed them to Assigned everything worked.
