does anyone know, outside of SMDR via Call accounting, if there's a way to see all active calls on a 2400/8500. I have a phone calling 911 and we have no idea where it is coming from.

Thanks for any help

If the call is in progress, you can try the DCON command, but you will need to know the trunk route and number or extension. You could also try the DLSD command. It can show SMDR raw data.

Yeah, I don't know the ext. That was the problem.

Are your sure it's an extension on the system? Do you have any CO lines shared?

Well not sure. We talked about any number of possibilities with lines that might me in the system to lines in the building. Our thoughts were to try and narrow down the possibilities. If there was a way to scan calls on the system, then that would help give us a direction. The bad thing is the SMDR is down and the customer hasn't fixed it yet. I only know of the 2 or 3 pris that are in the pbx. I don't recall any pots. I am sure they have some, if not for the pbx, then for any number of other things.

Time to check the telephone closet's RJ21X for an RJ31X or stray CO line. Easy enough.

You can connect to the SMDR output using hyperterm. It will be in raw data format, however you can save it to a file and search it for 911.

good idea. I did suggest too. They weren't really excited about doing it that way. So I am just going to wait and see what happens. They may to decide to hurry up getting the all accounting working again.

Professor shadow, that sounds like a long Day...... It is a casino... LOL. Thanks

If the line is not on the system then SMDR will show you absolutely nothing and you will then have to check the RJ21X's anyway.
