All 3d Graphics Flicker, then programs eventually freeze

This happened out of the blue really, everything working fine one day, screwed up the next.

The computer was fairly dusty and was getting a little hot, but nothing horrible.

I reseated my graphics card ( Nvidia GeForce) and it seemed to fix the problem for a bit. The graphics didnt flicker at all, and the game lasted much longer before freezing.

Everything that doenst require 3d Graphics works fine.

What could be the problem?
