Align data with VB

I m working on a visual basic program that opens an excell sheet and fills it with data....How do I align the data ?

I tried : excelsht.range("a6:b5").horizontalalignment=xlright but that did not work...what am i doing wrong ?

Record a macro while you modify the Column/Cell Format to Text, number etc., stop recording then look at the VBA code. That is how I start looking, and sometimes no further.
