I just took over an IT department. I wanted built a new server for them for a home grown application and several other applications. I named the server differently and I shut down the old server FSA. The home grown application was hard coded for that server name!! We do not have the source code for home grown application written in ACCESS

Is there a way to remap a UNC to point to a different server? The application is looking for \\FSA\CDATA1 and I want that to point to a directory on the new server.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Joe

Thanks R

I assume you mean just point FSA to newserver by using a CNAME record in the DNS forward looking zone??

Yes, that should work. Assuming of course you have a CDATA1 folder on the newserver.
