I have an AD account that was renamed to a new user, along with the matching SMTP address, X400 fields, and alias.
The problem is in Outlook, once that address is in the autocomplete To: address field, it shows up as the correct new Display name, but with the old alias. When you pull up the mailbox in the Outlook GAL, all the information is correct.
For example, Bob Smith's account was renamed to John Lee. In the autocomplete list in the To: field in Outlook, it will show up as "John Lee <BSMITH>".
Now, I thought for sure the problem was just with the autocomplete cache in Outlook. But I cleared it out to no avail and I even tested it by creating a new Outlook profile on a PC that has never even sent email to this user, and sure enough, it still shows as "John Lee <BSMITH>".
Everything in AD for this user account is setup for the new user. I made sure there are no references to the old user name. But something in AD is still referencing this old alias.
Any ideas?
