ALEX hyperlinks

Does anyone know how to get the ALEX search hyperlinks working from WinFIOL? I found an old closed thread which was a question with no replies. Everytime I click on the hyperlinks in WinFIOL, it comes up with the error:
No documents found containing 'sudip*'.

Hint: By adding '*' to the start or end of the expression, you can search for incomplete catchwords.

In channel properties, I have the browser set as "Alex (local)" and the current book does show so it must be linked!
Any help would be appreciated

i use winfiol and alex seperately, but in the same pc. whenever i need help from alex, i open alex and search it there.

from winfiol, searching in alex i dont know how it is
