Is there a way to limit the number of alerts sent to a user on a recurring schedule?

I am running a recurring report that checks for certain conditions. When the condition is met an alert is triggered. The problem is that the report continues to send alerts. Is ther any way i can manage this so only one alert is sent?

thks in advance.

Do you mean e.g.

Mon : Rpt triggers Alert email sent (good)
Tue : Rpt triggers Alert email sent (you don't want this)
Wed : Rpt triggers Alert email sent (you don't want this)
...

Or do you mean

Mon: Rpt triggers Alert1 (good), Alert2, Alert3 (you don't want 2 & 3)
Tue: Rpt triggers Alert1 (good), Alert2, Alert3 (you don't want 2 & 3)
Wed: Rpt triggers Alert1 (good), Alert2, Alert3 (you don't want 2 & 3)
...

Or something else? can you provide an example?

My specific requirement is restricted to one alert per recurring report.

For example...
A report is scheduled to run between 1.00pm and 5.00pm. The data is updating within this period. Once a certain condition is met, I would like an alert to be sent once to the administrator. The problem i have is that if the condition is met at 3.30pm then each subsequent instance within the schedule will generate the same alert each time.

I suppose this could be achieved in two ways (somehow)..
a) the alert occurs once only (within the recurring setting) or
b) the report "stops"after the first alery instance.

I am seeking whether anyone has managed to achieve a) or b).

(My request is not related to multiple alerts triggered within an instance which is your example 2 (i think).)

OK it’s a bit messy but here goes:

Create a Failure Event
Create a simple report that has the alert in it Report1.
Schedule Report1 with Events, (Failure Event to trigger on completion) but using a Server group that does not have SMTP enabled. When the Alert is triggered the report will fail and trigger the Failure Event, if the alert is not triggered the report will run successfully.

Now create Report2 with Alerts. Schedule this to run once per time frame with Events (e.g. Daily, with Events) using a Server group that does have SMTP enabled. Set Failure Event as the Event to wait for.

Now Report2 will only run once and email the alert.
