Alert within ARCServe Backup Job

Hi All,

I have a number of copies of ARCServe 6.61 on NT(and a couple of ARCServe 2000 on WIN2K), have applied the eTrust Patch to a couple which then allows me within the Alert Manager to send SMTP Mail via Lotus Notes (without configuring Notes or Exchange !).

Problem is when I go into ARCServe and try to configure an SMTP Alert, the SMTP Option isn't there, been racking my brains for days on this one.

Anybody any ideas, it's really beginning to get me down !!

I don't think Alert in ARCserve version 6.61 supported SMTP for. Alert is common for both the backup and virus detection programs. In this case the newer version of Alert that came with E-Trust was installed and will work with the older version of ARCserve. It will not add new features to ARCserve, so whatever methods of sending alerts 6.61 supported before will not change.
