We are running Exchange 5.5 SP3 With Groupshield 4.5
Since upgrading Exchange to SP3, the alert.txt file will autolaunch itself in Outlook.
On some of our computer, it will attempt to autolaunch using Windows Media Player. This is quite confusing to our end users.
Does anyone know how to tell MediaPlayer to quit autolaunching the alert.txt file?

Check the association for the .TXT extentsion. Or it may be that that particular ALERT.TXT file is actually a double-extention file, the 2nd extension being associated with either Media Player or Outlook.
