Alert Manager Query

Does anyone know which log file will tell me WHEN Alert Manager Service was stopped?
For some strange reason it stopped, and created it's own exchange mailbox settings??!!

Check the event viewer/application log or the alert activity log in the alert folder under the arcserve directory..
