Hello!
I have alerts set on my sharepoint site and it works fine.
Below you see an email as the result of change to a document
testing.doc that is connected to an alert.
I would like to make the email also show the content of the
document or at least the changes..

Is this possible ?

adamsharepoint,

I don't think there's any way of doing what you suggest. But to me, the alert emails work in the way I would expect them to.

If you have an alert set on a particular document, the email will include a link to the document itself, as shown in your example.

If you have an alert set on the library, the alert email should tell you which document has changed and should also give a link to the document (unless it as been deleted).

This makes more sense to me than attaching the content of the document, because one of the main benefits of SharePoint is that it cuts down on duplication of documents.

Showing the differences between the document versions would be pretty tricky. For one thing, that would involve putting a large part of the doc content in the email (see above). For another, SharePoint would have to know about how to show changes for each document type. That is quite a step on from the search system knowing about doc types for content crawling.
