alert box closing MIAWs - why?

I have a number of MIAWs acting as floating panels which stay open during the movie. However on the windows operating system when an alert box pops up all the MIAWs close, which I dont want to happen.

I need the MIAWs to stay open but I also need to show a few alert messages to the user e.g if they have not entered a search term when using my text search.

I tried using the MUI alert box but this has the same problem. Why do MIAWs do this??

Any ideas would be great.

I can’t replicate your problem - but may be you can use MIAW to mimic the alert box?
