Alert and email failure

I'm wanting to setup ArcServe to send out an email using the Alert service etc......

The problem I have is with the email settings with in the Alert Service. We are running Novell Groupwise as our email system. Outlook can patch into Groupwise, send and receive emails, but Alert won't. It fails with MAPI support errors if I don't complete the domain field. If I do then it fails with login errors. I can read the Address book in Aert fine.

Has anybody got any ideas how to setup the login details to get this to work?

At least according to the ArcServe 2000 docs, email alerts only work with MS Exchange or Lotus Notes.
