We are about to replace a Branch with a 412 - leaving the rest of the POTs modules to be used with the new IPO.

Is there a best practice when moving from Branch to an IP Office unit? Obviously we can export the extensions, users, hunt groups etc - but is this ok from Branch to IPO?

Avaya are great at saying upgrade from Branch to IPO, and gives all the benefits etc - but doing the actual upgrade is a bit of a grey area and I certainly haven't seen any docs on this!

Any help would be great or any experiences people have found!

I would start by exporting the Users Groups, Incomming call routes etc.
These should be OK to import withouth a problem, if it fails a manual retype on a default sysem is the only option

cool - that all makes sense

what firwmare do we put the Alchemy POTs modules on then? Leave them on 2.2(1070) or whatever they are on, or move them to the corresponding IP Office bins?

A full analogue solution - what do people recommend...Version 3 or 2.1?

Thanks!

I use an analog only SOE in my home office, and have found that with R3 some of the features that seem fine on DS ports fall down when analog ports are involved. Therefore I would recommend 2.1.35 unless you think you really need any R3 features.

Upgrade the phone modules to the coresponding version of IP Office firmware (which ever version you decide to use)

I suspect the V2.1 would be your best choice if peter is haveing problems with pots on V3.0 (you cant have line aperance keys on a pot anyway so thats 1 V3.0 feature that is no use to you)
