I have an alarm that comes in every so often and is set at a minor severity level. Every once in a while, a process will hang and I hill get a constant influx of these alarms.

My question, is there a way to raise the severity level of the alarm from minor to critical when it meets a certain threshold of alarms per minute?

We have a similar problem and we have not been able to find a workaround for it. You can set the severity to only one level with no option for rule sets.

Hi bluedragon, perhaps the Event Correlation Engine will help you to accomplish that, because this particular feature is not available under NNM/VPO, if I'm not mistaking.
Hope this helps,

vlan,

I just finished reading about the Event Correlation and Repeated Event Correlation. This may be able to do what I want. I will have one of my guys take a look at setting something up to test. Thanks for the info and I will let you know.
