Hi all,

I would like to know if it's possible to automatically store all the occured alarms in a logfile.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

sure,

active spontaneous alarm printout. connect it to a buffering device (or a pc with any terminal you like)

execution:

ALAPI:IODEV=xxx, CLA=0&1&2&3&4;

Thank you daddy, but is there a way likewise COMMANDxx.DAT and LOGONxx.DAT?

no, alarms cannot be stored on local HDU. you really need an external device to store/trap the alarms. we use data track tracker 2700 for this...

In search of a IODEV:
We have TABS on a AAU.
Can we use this for ALAPI?
If yes, how do we configure it?

Yes, the AAU can store this information. you configure the port just like for tabs, but you will not be able to use it for TABS AND alarm logging. what you can do with the AAU is alarm to snmp trap conversion, but for this you need mdsnp application on the AAU. and then offcourse an external SNMP application that stores the traps...

Thanx man, most appreciated.
