Team hi
I have an issue with a system that analog sets ( GASI) stopped funtioning. I see them live in BEM but they stopped.
System is BCM50b Release 5.0 and on reboot i get Alarm id : 40004 DSP 0 audit failed.
Any ideas?
There is an old post for BCM50 Release 1 but i am looking for more info.

Thanks

Nikos

In the alarm PDF file that I've attached it shows the following

40004 warning Media Services Manager MSM - DSP audit failed. Contact your local support group.

Have you tried disabling the module and removing it. Check it's OK and enable it again?. It could be a faulty module as I've known them to fail.

The BCM50 onboard DSP is periodically audited if it's alive (a "ping" packet is sent to it). The warning you get is generated when the DSP fails to respond (that should not normally happen). If three subsequent audits fail, the DSP is reset and downloaded again - if that happens, you would see error messages in the event log.

GASI onboard hardware is driven by DSP tasks - so if the DSP is not sane enough to respond to audit messages, it is likely the GASI DSP tasks won't do their job either.

Unfortunately, it looks like the DSP chip or the DSP memory on your BCM50 is about to "die". There is a small chance that power cycling the BCM50 could help. If it doesn't, you could either decide to continue using the BCM50 without the DSP (in a limited way) or you'd have to get another BCM50. If you don't use voicemail and/or IP telephony - that is if the DSP on your BCM50 is needed only for GASI - you could add an expansion module with GASM instead. If you need voicemail and/or IP telephony, your best option is to get another BCM50 and transfer keycodes, because there is no practical way to fix the one with the bad DSP.
