Hi,

Is it at all possible to set a server's alarm to beep when one of the services has stopped? Or does it have to be incorporated into the software. . .
We have our own application running ontop of a fingerprint verification system and I want the alarm to go off when our own service has stopped. . .

Thanks

Take a look at for using WMI to access the services. You can also use sc.exe to query a service for it's status.

You can use VBS & WMI to check the status of the service and if it is not running, send a beep signal. I personally recommend sending an email if the service isn't running. This will allow you to be notified even if you aren't around the server.
