I am getting an alarm on a customer BCM50 R1 system. Has anyone seen this before or know resolution? Thanks for any help.

File system /var/log near or on its capacity

The hard drive is filling up with log files
Could be car files being saved to the hard disk

You may have a problem applying patches. Backups etc.

It's best to get avaya to access system to remove the files

Thanks Snowman50. So there is no way to access the files on the hard drive without going through Avaya?

Found the link to a thread with the same alarm and solution

I do not think or know any way to telnet into a BCM50 though. That was my reason for the post. I know you can on a 200/400.

I have a bcm400 4.0 with the same problem,
I tried to do a backup and fails at starting IVR
I cant apply patches.
Voicemail says "Cant continue" when trying to access mailboxes.

I have rebooted twice with alarm 11201 returning.

Hopefully i will be able to access with Putty tomorrow with the help from my Tech support to see if i can clear var/log files.

I need to be able to apply patches to fix some issues.

thats right you cant telnet into bcm50.

But you can use Putty

I think you will need nnsupport and password for the day to access this.

I remember doing this a few years ago with Nortel on the voicemail Motor boating issue making strange noises on mailbox recordings.

Ok thanks.... will get a ticket open with Avaya and give it a try!
