I have an application that includes ripping tracks from CD's as part of it's functionality. More and more, I'm getting reports from owners of 'new' machines that their CD drives are not being recognized by the program. Nothing shows up in the combo box where the CD drives should be listed. This happens when they have the fancy-schmancy new dvd/cd/everythingelse drives. Does anyone have experience with this.

I'm trying to help folks with this problem use Windows Media Player to do the same thing, but can't get it to change the directory it rips to. I can reset the destination directory using options, but the new info is ignored by the program.

Here's a chance to show off your brainy-ness.

Help!
