Hi,

I am using the callout extenders on my validators on a web form. Works fine except that the default warning icon and close icons have borders around them. I've tried overriding the default css class but nothing seems to eliminate the borders around those images.

Has anyone else ever had this issue?

Since your post deals with CSS and not ASP.NET, you'd be better off posting here: forum215

I will post on the AJAX forum as i didn't before because the forum doesn't look like it has much traffic. I don't believe this to be a CSS problem as I have tried using the extender on my validator with the default properties and it still shows the borders around the images.

and it still shows the borders around the images
hence CSS.
this isn't an issue with ajax. ajax just sends and receives requests/response asynchronously. how the response is rendered in the browser is an html/css issue. the problem would exist even if you weren't using ajax.

I thought the validatorcalloutextender had its own css embedded into the Webresource. If so, i must have a problem in my aspx code, correct?

no necessarily and CSS being cascading means you can override the style using either a more specific CSS definition and/or javascript.
