aixmibd produces many defuncts

Hello,
Could anyone please tell me if "aixmibd" may be safely stopped in the system? Why it is started by default after AIX installed? Has to be started? (I've no SNMP management tools like HPOV NNM)
And I have the same question for snmpd v3 - is it required to keep system working properly?).

Are these the only errors you have in the aixmidb.log file? Or do you get these kinds of errors all the time.

Looks to me like you had some kind of network problem when the error messages were being thrown out?
