Hello,
I maintain several hundered Unix systems and noticed some strange behavior on our AIX systems. If the AIX system is sitting on a different subnet than the NIS server and ypbind looses connection with that server, the system "hangs" during logins after that. The only solution is to then reboot the server. All AIX systems that are on the same subnet recover just fine. This only happens with our AIX systems (4.3.3 to 5.1) but not our Solaris, HP-UX or Linux systems. Does anybody know if this is a known bug with AIX and if there might be a fix out there? Thanks much!
