Sorry for the additional post, thought I would ask my question another way.

Client replaced boot mirror disk and did not run the bosboot so know the system will no longer boot after the other drive failed. Tried booting off 5.3 media (server is 5.2) and issuing the bosboot and the command hangs. Believe the issue is related to the incompatibility of the OS's. If you do not have the correct media is there any other recourse? Desperate help needed..

thanks,
Dave

You must boot from a boot media (installation media, or mksysb) that has the same oslevel (base level and tl level, and if possible same sp level).
If you don't have the installation media, but you have another sever at same level you can do a mksysb or mkdvd and boot from it.
