Hi,

Could someone please tell me the maximum file size limit on version 4.1.5?

Also can I use -1 in the /etc/limits file for unlimited?

I think the limit is 2GB as large-file enabled filesystems did not appear until 4.2

Yes, but is it not /etc/security/limits ?

hi ,

on AIX versions 4.1.4 , 4.1.4.1 & 4.1.5 is 32 bit OS , and only supports 2GB maximum file size limit , where as AIX 4.2 is 64 bit and supports greater size.

If i was you , i would consider upgrading , thats if your application is supported on higher releases of OS. Some applications cannot have files greater than 2GB , because the way they are written.

Thanks to you both.

alexhu - Yes you were right /etc/security/limits.
