Bit of a strange problem here. Let me say that I know almost nothing of AIX, I just need to identify what software on our AIX boxes is base or 'system' software. That is, what is installed with the OS. I have a list of software that I am getting from a Tivoli scan. What I need to know is if there is some way I can identify what is purchased/built software and what is software that installs when AIX installs. Just a few examples of software that I suspect is 'system' software:

10/100/1000 Base-TX PCI-X Adapter Diagnostics
7135 RAIDiant Array DA Device Software Support
AIX CDE Runtime Libraries

Entries like this are what I am dealing with (I also have a version number). I guess I am wondering if there is some refrence somewhere that is going to list these things as system software. Any help would be appreciated.

You can get a list of installed packages using
lslpp -L all

for a list of patches and fixes

instfix -i

it will list any and all softare installed using installp which may not be part of the base O/S install

Chris,

To find the rpm packages installed in the system.
#rpm -qa
