AIX support for SATA ?

Is it possible to install SATA on AIX 5.3 ?
I have a RS6000 7044-170.

Nope, your machine i believed is the old version of POWER chips and even the latest one, no POWER machine is running SATA yet. from my understanding, they dont have any pseries machine running SATA disks, even the 570 or 595
