aix server administration

I have just been assigned the responsibility of managing an AIX server for a bank and I dont know exactly what to do as a server manager. Also I need to implement some policies but I haven't the slightest idea which ones to implement!!
Please help me somebody. I love the challenge and I'm eager to make a difference!

Since this thread is rather old I'll assume you have discovered "smit" by now. This is going to be one of your first tools to learn as a new administrator of AIX....

I don't work on AIX anymore but maybe my reply will spark others to chime in.

You might check out the book "AIX for Breakfast" to get a fast start. There are several good SA guids out there, some of which are written with a slant to AIX.
